What We Do

Think of it as a modern-day portrait commission, but instead of paint on canvas, we work with moving images, sound, and story. The result is something alive: a film that doesn’t just show how life looked, but how it felt.
We make bespoke, cinematic documentaries that capture the people and moments that mean the most to you. Whether you want to celebrate somebody in your life, make a family update film to share, explore your family’s history, capture every day life with your kids, you have a special occasion you want to have on record, we can help. We can also discuss any other ideas you have, we’re entirely bespoke, so just ask.
These are not wedding-style highlight reels or posed family videos - they are true documentary films, created with the sensibility of a documentary filmmaker. We take time to listen, to ask questions, and to uncover the heart of each story.
How we work
We will do an initial call to discuss what you’d like.
Once confirmed, I’ll send you some questions so that I can get to know you, or the person/people we will be filming. We’ll then shape a story and filming plan.
We film in an authentic, documentary style - unobtrusive, natural, and human-centred. That might mean interviews at home, candid moments with your children, or following your family through an ordinary day - the kind of day that, in time, you’ll realise was extraordinary. It might also mean filming a bigger occasion such as a special trip or holiday, a birthday or a reunion.
We then move to post-production which is the longest part of the documentary filmmaking process. This is where the film takes shape.
The lead time of Portrait and Day in the Life projects is around within 6-8 weeks, and the in-depth Heritage and Seasons packages timelines will be discussed. If you need your film made quickly by a certain date for example, we can usually arrange this for an additional fee.

Documentary Filmmaking
I trained at the National Film and Television School, one of the world’s leading film schools, and it was there I discovered that people are always at the heart of my films. With a creative writing background, I was already a keen storyteller with a love for human stories, and during my Documentary filmmaking MA I developed my distinct human-centred and evocative filmmaking style.
My career has taken me to The Guardian, BBC and Lionsgate, I’ve made films all around the UK, the USA and Spain. Now I bring those skills into people’s homes, creating bespoke works of art for families.
Experience with children and families
Before pursuing film professionally, I spent over a decade working with children and families. I came to know all kinds of households: the personalities, traditions, dynamics, and bonds that shape them. Those years gave me a deep understanding of family life across generations - knowledge that flows into every film I now create.
Why I Do This
I’m a mum to a lively 2.5-year-old boy, who has given me my greatest inspiration. I know how quickly the years pass, and how rarely parents find themselves in the frame.
I’ve also known the ache of losing elderly relatives and wishing I’d asked more, about who they really were, what they lived through, and the stories they could have shared with my son. That reminder, that stories slip away if we don’t preserve them, is at the heart of why I do this.
I believe a film can be more than memory; it can be art. Like commissioning a portrait painting or photoshoot, but multi-dimensional, with voices, conversations, laughter and candid moments that bring a story to life.
These films are heirlooms: something to be cherished, shared, and passed down.

What is striking is the way she has shot members of the family and all manner of creatures with such tender sensuality – the child’s plump feet as she climbs a tree, the dog’s heartbeat as he lies spread-eagled on a rug and later his wild running on the beach, the children on the trampoline beneath a line of washing and the disconsolate little boy seeks comfort from the young woman seated beneath with her child.
